Marigold Days is being held in Mantorville September 8 and 9, 2012. I will be demonstrating carving with my high speed engraver and displaying my sculpted leaf pendants, eggshell sculptures and Christmas ornaments at the Mantorville Art Guild (MAG) Campus, 521 N. Main Street, Mantorville, MN from about 10am to 6pm on Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sunday. Come and enjoy the excitement of Marigold Days.

Come to Rochesters’ 4th annual fun-filled day celebrating the Arts in Rochester, ARTigras! The ARTists’ Village will be setup behind Mayo Civic Center, 30 Civic Center Drive SE, Rochester, MN 55904, August 18, 2012 between 9am and 4pm. I will be displaying and selling my sculpted leaf pendants, eggshell sculptures and Christmas ornaments in booth 43. Come and see all the great art and the art organizations. Old Tyme Days and the Old Tyme Days Art Show (OTD Art Show) are being held in Mantorville June, 30th and July 1st from 11am to 4pm each day. I will be displaying and selling my sculpted leaf pendants, eggshell sculptures and Christmas ornaments at the Mantorville Art Guild (MAG) Campus, 521 N. Main Street, Mantorville, MN. Come and step into the past to enjoy Old Tyme Days.

I will be presenting at the Lakes Area Woodcarvers May meeting being held from 7:00 to 9:00pm at the Forest Lake Senior Center, 767 SW 4th St, Forest Lake, MN. I will be talking about using a high speed engraver to sculpt eggshells and wood. Come and join the fun.

My eggshell carvings are on display in the front window of SEMVA, 16 First Street, SW, Rochester, MN  55902, on the Peace Plaza across from Barnes and Noble. The work displayed includes my latest piece, “Elephant Petroglyph Ostrich Eggshell Cup”. This piece is a companion to my “Diepkloof Ostrich Eggshell Cup” currently on display at the Pump House Regional Art Center, 119 King Street, La Crosse, WI. The SEMVA display runs through the month of April.

The 19th Annual Rockford Egg Artists’ Show and Sale is being held at the Midway Village Museum, 6799 Guilford Road, Rockford, IL 61107. Cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children (3-17). Hours are 10am to 4pm each day. Julia Smith Show Director and Valerie Smith Co-Director have put together a fantastic show. Come and enjoy the amazing artistic eggshells, vote for your favorite eggshell in the Peoples Choice display, purchase professional egging supplies at the vendors and attend one of the classes including one on eggshell carving being presented by Gary LeMaster on Sunday morning.

My latest eggshell sculpture, “Diepkloof Ostrich Eggshell Cup”, has been accepted into The Art of the Drinking Vessel Juried Art Exhibition at The Pump House Regional Art Center, 119 King Street, La Crosse, WI. The Reception for the exhibition is being held Saturday, March 17, 2012 from 5 – 7pm. My piece will be on display and for purchase from March 15, 2012 to April 14, 2012 at The Pump House.

The inspiration for this cup came from engraved fragments from ostrich eggshell containers found at the Diepkloof Rock Shelter in South Africa. The eggshell fragments date to around 60,000 years ago. The fragments are believed to represent some of the earliest use of symbols by humans.
